Thanks for the ProdPad shout Marily + Deb! As a self-described "tools" PM, one thing I'm particularly aware of is the context switching required to go across all these new platforms, and that some require more ramping up than others.

Although it's natural to want to use the best tool for the job, in the long run IMO it will be most scalable for PM teams to be able to do these tasks from a centralized app that can do the majority of these actions and is able to connect to the apps (thru agents or integrations) for the actions it can't do. The dream is to have your AI stack as minimal as possible and make sure all the qual and quant data is connected across it.

For example, you can already use ProdPad's CoPilot to gather insights on the web, create ideas, and prioritize them - with the added bonus of our AI knowing all about your feedback, product and roadmaps without additional system instruction.

As I dogfood my own product, my stack right now looks like ProdPad for the above mentioned items, Lovable or Figma for prototypes (but I prefer to directly ship small experiments to customers where we can), Help Scout for customer research (proactive messaging and surveys) and Fathom (also love Grain) for recordings (both of which are piped back into ProdPad). And finally Mixpanel and ProdPad/Notion for measuring our outcomes.

It's still not as small as I'd like, but it's getting there!

PS. I'm curious what makes NotebookLM or Obsidian a preferred kb tool? Is it better for a "personal" kb rather than a team-wide one?

Loved this, Marily. Especially the reminder that so much of product work happens beyond the screen—like that fragile partnership example. I strive to bring this idea into the classroom at Stanford GSB, where I teach Strategies for Effective Product Management. Our students are often wondering if PM is going away—but we emphasize that the personal nuances of human relationships may become even more valuable in an AI-powered world. AI can sharpen judgment, but it can’t replace it. Would love to have you as a guest in the classroom next winter quarter if you are game! (Deb is also a guest. Thanks Deb!)
