Brilliant piece, and one I'd extend beyond startups. I work with established professional services firms — consultancies, accountancies, legal practices — in the £500K-£5M revenue range, and the fractional model is transforming this space too. These founders have a specific problem: every hour they spend on marketing, operations, or business development is an hour they're not billing at £150-£500/hour. The maths is brutal. But they can't afford a full C-suite either. What I've found over 30 years is that the most effective fractional relationships go beyond advisory. The businesses that break through their growth ceiling don't need another strategy document — they need someone who'll actually deploy the work. The distinction matters: fractional advice is valuable, but fractional execution is transformative. Curious whether you've seen this shift from advisory to execution in your fractional work too?
