💬 This post stirred something deep in me. Thank you, @Deb, for holding space for this conversation and for naming what so many of us feel — the desire to make a mark, and the quiet ways we sometimes step back from our own power.
Inspired by this, I reflected on the "free passes" I’ve been unconsciously carrying — old permissions that once kept me safe, but now hold me back.
Here are a few I’ve just torn up:
• “If I do great work, people will see it.” → Advocate for myself with care, clarity and confidence.
• "I can only ask for more when it’s safe.”→ Safe is a feeling we create grounded in our values.
• “I can’t be both poetic and powerful.” → I now write and lead in full color.
Oh my goodness, Deb — you read my comment, the blog, the poem!
And I felt goosebumps all over.
Thank you for receiving it with such care. It means so much more than I can express. Today, I took the day off — and spent it reflecting, writing, and wrestling gently with my inner critic, who’s evolved enough now to ask soft questions like, “Are you sure this was a good use of time?”
And my wiser self replied: “Sometimes, the process is the reward.”
And now your comment arrived — not as validation, but as a sweet compliment from the universe that I’ll remember for a long time.
You helped spark this reflection. And now you've made it feel like it mattered. Thank you for seeing me. 🌱
So relatable! I have held back from meeting senior leaders in a 1:1 setting so many times so I am not "wasting their time". I'd also love to learn about the Revolve framework". Thanks.
I suspect some of the people mentioned in this post are introverts! I’ve been doing a lot of those same things that hold me back. Learning to identify those self-limiting beliefs and tendencies and unleash myself.

In a recent Substack https://spacewarrior.substack.com/p/believe-that-you-are-enough, I wrote:
“Tune out the egoistic noise
Tune into your cosmic brilliance
Do, can, will…
Believe, you are enough
That you truly become enough.”
I’m practicing daily to live from this inner wisdom.
If you’re on a similar journey of unlearning and reimagining, I’d love to walk with you: follow me on substack. 💫

I love your post. These really spoke to me.
"Little self confidence,
I’d feel like an impostor
I didn’t know if I had it in me
Like the others before me
Their struggles I wasn’t aware
Gullible and naive
I thought they had it all
figured out
My mind said beware
They didn’t have your limitations"

As always, a very relatable post! I love that you give a voice to thoughts and limiting beliefs that people carry in their hearts.

It is okay to ask. They will say no if they can't make time, but believe it or not, most say yes because they want to connect and learn too.
Make room for "yes" in your life.
Thanks for the post! Would love to get into the slack community!

The hotshot rule is my favorite takeaway. Thank you.
