I think we rely too much on verbal feedback without trying other ways to help others see what we are talking about.
On the written feedback, I felt like we were talking past each other. Having it written down helped me articulate something that I had a hard time explaining. The way we interacted felt like a tennis match, and I was always trying to keep up. By writing my thoughts down, I had a chance to get it all out without having to worry about the return volley and responding. I ended up sending it because I realized that I knew what I wanted to say and my failure to share it was a disservice to our relationship.
