Well said, Deb. Thanks for articulating and sharing the stories that are often not. They give voice to the vulnerable and remind the rest of us to love all.
I had hoped by the time I had kids of my own, we would be beyond this. But even to this day, many kids (and even the elderly) are not immune to verbal and physical abuse.
It makes me so angry and upset that the cowards picked the most vulnerable - the old people and kids - to showcase their hate.
Really glad to see you use your voice and reach to speak up. We Asians have long kept our noses to the grindstone and ignoring the haters. We are changing.
Thank you for sharing Deb. I think it is hard for many Asian immigrants including myself to create friction even in the face of injustice when one has been raised in a culture of harmony. A lot of this has changed with greater social awareness for all of us and for me personally to realize that I've only ever regretted turning the other cheek or looking the other way.
Thank you Deb for sharing. I didn't know your life was so close to Atlanta, and I didn't know about your parents' relocation choice. When we are all saddened and concerned, you took the time and effort to share and to pump us up, thank you for being a giver.
Thank you for your heartfelt share, Deborah, that hits SO many points of what we collectively think and feel. Your proximity to Atlanta also makes it so poignant.
If faith, I *hate* the hypocrisy and rejection experienced by your parents and family due to the church not wanting your membership. Evidence of mankind "falling short" (again).
