Thank you for sharing this practice of yours.

A historical Italian actor, Antonio De Curtis, often said in his films, 'details are important', thus justifying his focus on small details, which then led the viewer to laugh at those details pointed out. It is difficult to put into words, but these jokes of his made the audience laugh at first, but then left a few seconds later a serious reflection that opened up new scenarios never thought of.

It's the lesson of the Baobabs from The Little Prince: don't let little problems grow into big problems. Though the trick is to figure out which ones will grow vs which ones will go away by themselves. =)

Agree! And I know Maureen would love that you mentioned Baobabs.

Thanks a lot for this post. Very timely. My resolution is going to be to stay on top of the little things. As you said - "Staying on top of tasks is always easier than digging yourself out from under tasks you leave undone."

Happy New Year, Deb and Perspectives community!

Thanks for the transparency/shared experience of throwing everything into a box only to unearth it later, thinking "What the...?!"😂

A couple things that 2 different coaches have shared that I'm repeating in my head this New Year's week:

- F.O.C.U.S.: Follow One Course Until Success

- Are your goals competing with each other? (time/energy/resources) -- where something should be dropped/put aside for another season?

Now adding your phrase to my thoughts: "Fix and Finish!" -- as I FOCUS! 😊

To a great year ahead!

Environment is everything when trying to adopt new habits and meet New Year resolutions.

You can have tools necessary at your disposal to make changes in your life, but if your immediate environment is not the correct one, then they will be of no use.

Like yourself, my main goal is to move into a new place better designed for this.

Thanks for sharing the details. Your habit building framework through the new year resolution ritual is very interesting. What amazes me the most is your strong willpower that's probably is at the center of it all and has converted these new resolutions to life-time habits. Your list of resolutions also hint that you like to live life with an intention and being in the moment vs letting life happen to you. Best of luck with your new set of resolutions for 2024! Happy New Year!

Thanks so much for sharing great insight! Inspired me to think about resolutions for myself this new year, which I pushed off because we’ve been caring for our newborn.

Congrats on the new addition.

I actually walked my colicky baby on the exercise machine strapped to my chest. A great way to get a workout and have a less fussy baby.
