Wishing you a speedy recovery! It's a great book list (I'm curious how much you actually read though in a week while also, I hope, truly resting?!)

I'm especially pleased to see the top of your list dominated by books that challenge the modern reader to think differently about time and money. We've been so heavily conditioned to be PRODUCTIVE and SUCCESSFUL that we can spend our whole life chasing titles and the next wealth milestone, and end up having all of that amount to very little significance if we're not careful.

Another beautifully written and provocative book that's in the same vein as 4,000 Weeks is "Saving Time" by Jenny Odell. Highly recommend!

Thanks Deb for sharing your reflections on these books. There were some books I had reservations about but you changed my mind - I will read those. Thank you.

You were always one of the leaders at Meta I admired. In my mind, you always embodied the warm and kind leadership, unlike other people. As I am coaching many startup founders these days, I often see them suffer from not having many diverse leadership references to look after. I sometimes think of you.

I lost my dad to cancer last November (Stage 4 lung cancer), so I share your sentiment. In the course of his dying process, I ended up reading a lot of books on death and dying such as "Being Mortal" or "Briefly Perfectly Human". I am not trying to be morbid - but those books really helped me to regain perspectives on how to live well .

I hope you recover well. Keep sharing!

Great list. Some I've read, some now on my Libby list.

Also: Do you read fiction?

Current favorites of mine:

- "Table for Two" by Amor Towles - Thoughtful and entertaining short stories and a novella. Also enjoyed his novels.

- "Hyperbole and a Half" and "Solutions and Other Problems" by Allie Brosh - I laughed so hard, coffee came out of my nose.

Thinking of you and wishing you good rest and and a speedy recovery

I have not read as much fiction though I am open to branching out! Will take a look. Love short stories. They are a craft in and of themselves.
