How to open doors by reaching out authentically
I'm forever grateful for that conversation, and for you caring enough to push me to rethink my approach. It was a game changer for our relationship, but also for how I've approached connecting with people at work. I might be the biggest fan of this substack, so I'm also pretty stoked to be included in this post. Thank you and looking forward to talking again soon :)
Thanks for sharing these concepts Deb. I feel so often we shoot for harmony rather than alignment and find later that it's not the same thing!
Love this section. I was super shy when I first joined Gusto and didn't ask for a 1x1 from my skip until a year later and missed out on a lot of great mentoring opportunities. Ever since, I've been more proactive in reaching out to people, bracing the discomfort of speaking up but also enjoying the benefit of building trust and connection. It's upfront work that makes everything else that follows so much easier.
Thanks for your constant generosity of spirit & knowledge!
good one ;)
Another great post, Deb! Thanks for sharing, for some of us who are introverts and shy, it takes a lot of courage to open up/ask for help but the question I am going to ask myself going forward is what if the answer is yes?! Also, thanks for taking the time to talk to me last week, meant a lot.
