This is so good, so much condensed years of learning experiences that these could be chapters of Frank Slootman "Amp it up" book. awesome read. thank you Deb.
Love this post! Thanks for using Statsig as an example, Deb. Having worked together with you for many years, I can totally see how all these come straight from your hands on experience.
I have certainly experienced #9! I feel like there's a clear "what to do about it" for someone in a leadership position, but as someone who's early in her product career, what can I do to "deal" with a product leader (and leadership team) who is rewarding output over impact?
My instinct tells me - leave the team / company - but that feels over-reactive if this problem is common enough to make it to your newsletter 😅
Nice one Deb - Thanks for sharing your insights on this difficult topic, based on your experiences!

I learned so much from you over the years on how to execute. Thanks for letting me share our lessons with the world.
Great real life example of Values > Scenarios > Actions > Outcomes - a good read.
Whilst I can see how some generically fit, I can see how one or two can be dangerous in certain types of sectors and / or companies.
So really important that the Values and Actions are a good fit for that sector and / or company.
